Newest and Oldest

The newest and oldest ladies of the Wood Family

Elsie Carolina was born on March 22.  She was conceived through IVF, a process that took her parents on an emotional roller-coaster.  A wicked one at that.  Elsie is their 2nd IVF child coming 4 years and 3 months after their first.  Many thoughts went through my mind as I've thought about the extreme differences that we went through to get our families here on Earth.  Having children was not a difficult thing for me.  My mom told me once that all I had to do was sit on the toilet and I'd get pregnant.  For a long time I thought I would be having just 4 children, but was obedient to a loving Heavenly Father's request and had 2 more.  Thoughts of inadequacy were constantly on my brain and were for a very long long time.  Those thought disabled me to some degree.  In comparison, Cory and Kelli struggled for years to get pregnant.  Finally being blessed with two sweet girls.  I'm sure that they never thought they would have to face such struggles and probably desire to have more children.  Each experience drawing us closer to Heavenly Father.  Understanding that we need to rely on Him and His wisdom.

Despite our own unique struggles that we go through, each child, whether conceived easily or not so easily are precious in the eyes of God.  Each child bringing with them a personality all their own, talents and abilities meant to bless their respective families.

Congratulations to Cory, Kelli and big sister Alleah.
