Three skirts and a chevron dress

Ahhhh, Spring.  Next to Autumn, it's my second most favorite time of the year.  All the trees in bloom, and the blubs  bouncing their bright colored faces bring a renewal to life.  You feel hope coming back to your heart that there will be more time spent outside in the garden, yard, and mountains.  Such a refreshing feeling.

Along with spring comes Easter.  And with Easter comes new church outfits.  Good times.  My Mom in the past has spent hours making dresses.  Due to time we picked out skirts and shirts for them.  I think they look adorable in their bright colors.  I had to add some lace to the bottom of Hannah's.  We needed length to meet  Dad's strict approval.  We have a thing around here about modesty and the importance of it.  And this is strictly observed by the Dad, and the Mom.

I love how this photo shows each of the girls personalities.
Hannah has sass.
Isabel has a little bit more sass.
Annika is all her own.
I asked them to put their hands on their hips and this is how the each interpreted that instruction.

All three girls.
They each wanted their hair done in some lovely fashion.

My twins

And then there was Grace.  Aunt Jessica sent this dress out from Virginia.  We decided to save it till Easter. She looks stinking adorable in the chevron pattern.  I had her try it on before Easter Sunday and I literally had to rip it off of her.  She loves it too.

Could she get any cuter?

Did I mention this one has 10 times
as much sass as her sisters combined?

That sweet profile!
Long eyelashes
He mother's nose
and a pouty mouth

My girls.  They are maddeningly fun.  They are growing into their own fashions.  A lot of the times I cringe at what they choose.  But hey, that's them and it's fabulous.  I'm sure there were times when I was growing up that my Mom cringed as well.  But letting these precious girls figure out who they are is so important.  Hannah is always asking me for my opinion.  At times this may seem a little tedious since she usually goes ahead and picks out the opposite of what I suggest.  One day I mentioned this to her and she told me she would just like my opinion.  I guess I should be grateful that she even still comes to me for advice about clothes.  Maybe it's because I still have such great taste.  When I am not cringing,  I find that I am  proud of the choices they make.  They take such great care in how they look and that means they value who they are.  There's that great balancing act of letting them be who they are and expressing themselves within safe boundaries and not making them feel confined.  A balancing act that I am still trying to figure out.

Beautiful pics! The skirts and dress are fabulous! I tried commenting on your egg post and it wouldn't let me! However, I loved both your ideas that you shared. Going to have to try and remember that for next year!
