Late Summer Cast

No summer is complete without a fishing trip to Vivian Park.  I think we have a love hate relationship with this excursion every year.  We go so early in the morning that it is butt freezing cold.  Even in the heat of summer, the mountain mornings are chilly!  And actually, it comes as a relief, especially to those of us, and I mean me, who can barely tolerate the heat.  This year we went later in the summer, after school started.  The kids LOVE going fishing.  I go because the kids love it.  I just walk up and down and watch everyone cast, and sit and wait.  And then cast again, stand, wait, reel it in.  Most of the time we don't get any fish at all.  This year was no different.  The only one who caught a fish was Beckham.  It was so small we had to throw it back.  I think he and Jaren caught another as well.  Again, too small to keep.

This year the kids had fun tackling each other in the wet grass.  I think it took 3 kids to take down Jaren and even then Uncle Sean had to intervene.  It was good times.

There was talk of next year going on an actual fishing trip where we go camping.  Now, that would be fun.

Looks like a really fun family time ending the Summer and embracing the FALL! Great photos capturing all the right fishing tactics.
Enjoy more of them!
