Jam Packed Saturday

Saturday started out bright and early at Grandma Penny's house. The kids decorated their own Easter baskets out of old Cannery Cans. They decorated them with Decopag, ribbon, and the girls with lots and lots of flowers. They turned out so cute. I was really happy with the way they turned out. My Mom is so great just to let them do their own thing and glop on the glue. I think Jaren's took twice as long to dry as everyone elses. But the kids had a lot of fun doing it themselves.

As soon as we were done at Grandma Penny's house we headed back to our house. Another great tradition that we have is to color Easter Eggs with Aunt Kelli. It's started to get bigger every year. Now the Tradition
includes Chicken Salad Sandwiches and Cory and Brent are even
involved now. The kids did another spectacular job of coloring eggs. I still didn't cook up enough eggs though. I boiled 3 dozen eggs and that wasn't near enough for all the kids to be satisfied. Note to self, next year, I'll need to do a dozen per child. What will I do with all the left over eggs you ask? I guess we'll be eating egg salad sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week.
After our fabulous meal of Chicken Salad Sandwiches, chips and cloud salad, we headed outside for the Easter egg Hunt. It's so much fun to watch the kids and see their personalities come an
activity like this. Annika searched and searched and didn't come up with very much, but was still content with what she had. Isabel on the other hand found many many eggs and was disappointed because she thought everyone else got more. Beckham was just thrilled to find any kind of egg. As far as Jaren and Hannah go, I'm just glad they still wanted to participate. Especially Jaren. I overheard the girls talking last week about how Jaren wasn't going to look for any eggs. I am happy to say that Jaren still found joy in the hunt. We were lucky that Aunt Brooke made it up from
Las Vegas. We miss having her around. She is such an amazing person. Always so much fun with a great sense of humor. The Woods' were over until about 7:30pm. Despite how busy and rushed I felt, it was a Great day. It was great to be around family and have family so close.

Thanks for a great afternoon and evening. I look forward to Easter every year just because of the traditions we have.

I love the idea of making your own Easter baskets! They look adorable, I like all the flowers on them.
