The Gingerbread Inn
I'd stay there!!!

Epecially if a stay meant I got to ride one of these bikes!!!
Orange is one of my most Favorite colors these days!

Our painted piggies!!
There is nothing like the feeling of sand in between your toes!
Everyone should experience that at least once in their life!

Their first up-close moment with the ocean.
They're mezmorized!

It was windy, but oh so perfect.

Running from the pounding waves.

Centerville Beach

View of the beach from a short distance.
Of course, the first thing we did was take our shoes off!!
Saturday morning we spent at the Church in Fortuna decorating the gym for Grandma Edith and Grandpa Dale's 60th Wedding Anniversary Celebration. While we decorated Grandma Edith made her Buttermilk pancakes. Others helped to cook bacon and eggs. It was a great breakfast. Afterwards, the Woods took off to visit a few other places. Our first stop was Ferndale. While we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, Brent drove us out to the Centerville Beach. The kids had fun being chased by the crashing waves. Annika found a few shells and we all witnessed our first dead seal. Yes, dead. It was actually hidden behind a log that I thought would make a great photo op. Well, I quickly let go of that idea.
Ferndale is an old quaint town full of Victorian Homes. There was some film made there, I think it was Outbreak with Dustin Hoffman. Anyway, some of the party wasn't very happy to be there so I didn't get to walk around and take as many pictures as I'd hope. It was at this point in the trip that my camera decided to break down. Sad.
Also this day we went to the Eureaka Pear and Fort Humbolt. Pictures of those to come. I have to find them on Hannah's camera. Lesson learned, always bring a back up camera!!
