It's the beginning of summer and I am listing off in my head all the things I want my children to accomplish. One of them is to continue to read. Earlier this week I took Isabel and Annika to the Library to pick out a book. One book each. If we get more then that, it's spells trouble. Well apparently one book spells trouble too. Annika had finished her book and so did Isabel. But we just couldn't find Isabel's book. Finally it came down to Brent looking for it. I'm not the one to come to if you have something that needs finding. I forget where I put my last pair of shoes. On the other hand, Brent could find a pin in a haystack he's so good. Unfortunately Brent found the book in Roman's kennel, with the corner all chewed up. Isabel confessed that She and Annika had crawled into the kennel to read and she had forgotten about the book.
Since we found the book we were able to go back to the Library and I made Isabel confess to the Librarian the truth about what happened. She was so sweet and innocent and I am very proud of her for doing that. The darn book cost us $10 to replace and they handed us the chewed up book to keep. Isabel now has to do 20 chores to pay Brent and I back for the book. Twenty five cents for each chore

Sounds more like a lesson that will be well learned!
Good for you.
We had to buy the book "Dumb Bunnies." Don't ask me why I let the kids check it out in the first place. Anyway, Ben ruined it and I found myself $16.50 poorer, and the not so proud owner of a truly DUMB book!
I love this story! Isabel is adorable and you're an awesome mom! I hope she liked this book!

LOVE the photos of Isabel, how cute. Too bad Isabel has to work to pay off the damage that stupid Roman did. Can't you sell him to make up for the price of the book?
I loved the "kennel" reading. Who would ever think to crawl inside a dog kennel to read? Isabel's picture was so pensive, I love it. Let me know what you want to do this week. Love you all.
