A "Debbled" Egg

On Saturday I was quickly putting together some deviled eggs. Isabel wanted to be right there in the thick of it. So I let her crush up the yolks and mix in the mayo and other seasons. I could tell she was mulling something over when she stated, " I know why they are called "debbled" eggs." I said, " You do, why is that?" Her response, " Because you cut them in half and you get two eggs."
I kind of chuckled, " that's true. But they are called Deviled eggs, not doubled eggs." Then I tried to explain to her why they are called Deviled eggs. I think it's because you add mustard to the mixture. I guess I'll have to research that on Google.
