Another Quilt

A baby quilt for Melissa.

I loved adding Turquoise to the mix!

I LOVE to quilt. Any excuse I get to make one, I take it. This time, the reason for the quilt is the upcoming birth of Melissa's baby. She is having another girl and doesn't have much for this one. Melissa's done so much for me that this is the least I could do for her. The quilt did turn out a tad small. I wanted something that she could bring the baby home from the hospital in.
One of the reasons I love quilting so much is the fabrics that are so readily available these days. I love choosing an inspiration fabric and then picking coordinating fabrics. It's the thrill of the hunt and the excitment as all the colors seem to come together. I love hearing people say," I would never have thought to put those together!".
One day I'm going to be like my Aunt Gaye. I'm going to have a room dedicated to quilting. The room is going to have floor to ceiling shelves full of fabrics, all colors of the rainbow. When I get a hankering to make something all I'll have to do is head to my room, pick out some awesome colors, cut and sew! I'll still have to run to Gaye's house to have her actually quilt it for me. Who knows, maybe by then I'll have my own quilting arm. That would mean I would have to trade my master bedroom for the tiny bedroom downstairs. I don't think Brent would be willing to make such a sacrifice.
A girl can dream though, right?

What a happy quilt! Melissa's daughter will be lucky to be wrapped up in it. I love the photos of the kids--they look so grown up and beautiful. I like Grace's fancy hair do!
