I look to my right and I see the Hollywood sign!! I look to my left and see the L.A. Temple!!!

It was a crazy adventure getting this one photo of the Hollywood sign. We had no idea where we were going, or what the road was going to be like to get there. Well, now we know! And driving up there in a huge Suburban was a tad bit scary. The road to get up there is called Mullholland Hwy. If you've ever been to California Adventure there is a ride there called Mullholland Madness. We now know what that ride was named for! CUZ MULLHOLLAND HWY IS MADNESS!!! It's a tiny road that winds this way and that way and all the while it feels as though it's getting narrower and narrower. On either sides of the road are nice expensive, private homes that have been there for decades!! We thought when we finally reached the top we'd be able to get out and get some good pictures. IT was an awkward dead end with a huge gate preventing further passage. I felt strange hopping out of the car in between these two homes. If it weren't for other sight seers I probably would have stayed in the car! You know that whole strength in numbers gig? Brent had to make a, what seemed like, a 10 point turn just to get out of there!! It was FUN!!! The kids were going crazy, and I loved looking at the houses!! Coming down away from the Hollywood sign we found ourselves in posh Beverly Hills!! That was insane!
The kids were hungry and anxious to get out of the car. We plugged in the nearest McDonalds into our GPS. As we pulled up, in the back ground we saw the angel Moroni! It was the L.A. Temple!!!

I love to see the Temple!!
I'll go inside one day!!

Finally, a good shot of Brent and I
Good Job Jaren!

This is my favorite photo taken this entire trip!!

My ADORABLE Children!
When they want to be!

Trying to get a fun photo.
Grace didn't want to lay down
The sun was to bright for Beckham

Hannah, she's growing up so fast!!!

Love this picture!

Not only are they twins,
but best of friends!

Grace would rather be running instead of sitting!
Can't you just see it in her eyes?

I took this hanging out of the moving car!
Not Bad!!

Our last day in California we decided to take the kids to Los Angeles. We have a tradition when we travel to other States or even cities, we try and visit the nearest Temple. For us, it's important that our children know how important the Temple is. We want to instill in them a desire to one day enter it's sacred doors. To help reinforce this we take lots of pictures so we can add to our collection at home. I have a wall in my home dedicated to Temples. Vinyl lettering reads, I love to see the Temple I'm going there someday. Below the lettering are our photos. It's been so much fun to visit so many Temples. I hope to visit a lot more!

I'm glad you made the effort to see the Hollywood sign. I like to imagine your suburban and its passengers making that journey. These were the best photos of the trip!

The Hollywood sign just isn't nearly as beautiful as the temple. I really like the pictures of your family in front of the temple. Great job!!! Plus the weather is something to be jealous about right now!

I used to live in So. Cal. Been on Mulholland several times. It is crazy, but Fun! Hollywood is a weird, scary place. Another contrast I find interesting is where the LA Temple sits. Smack inthe middle of Santa Monica Blvd! Sort of a seedy place from what I remember, but the grounds are gorgeous and the Spirit is strong. Great picts!
