Why is it that your children seem to act up more when you as a Mother are trying to practice more patience? Seriously! Lately I've had the feeling that I need to discipline with more love. My friend Rebecca gave me a cd by a woman named Carleen Tanner. I have loved listening the her instruction. It makes so much sense. At first I felt extreme guilt. Cause I was doing EVERYTHING she said we SHOULDN'T be doing. She gave 11, count them, 11 new techniques to implement. How does one do that? So my next emotion I felt was overwhelmed!! I want to change over night, to be the perfect disciplinarian. But that is impossible! Especially when your kids seem to act up more when you yourself are trying 10x harder to be a better parent.
One thing that stuck out in my mind was when Carleen told us not to beat ourselves up over not being "perfect". We can't acheive that. We have to focus on being 80% better, or 50% better or even just 30% better. Because we were at least better then we were the previous day.

Don't you know that when you pray to have more patience, you will be tested so that you can gain the patience you desire.
I don't know how many women I have heard say their children act up more when they pray for patience. Simple solution, stop praying for it.
Not really, because it is something we all have to work on, and if we are going to work on it, then who better to help us than our Heavenly Father.
What's the point of a new parenting method if you kids don't give you an opportunity to apply it? You care and you love and they know it.
