Grandma Donna and Papa Woody with the Grandkids.

This is what it's like to grow up with 3 brothers.
It's nigh impossible to get a decent photo.
But full of laughs.

Brent, love him.

Brooke laughing at herself.
We were shaking our arms and flopping our heads while making noise.
Yes, we're weird, but we sure have a good time.

Brent choosing not to participate but watch the rest of us make fools of ourselves.

Grace wanting to play catch.

What's a boy without a stick?

That's Grandpa in the background. He loves taking photos of people taking photos.

We packed in even more on the first day. After visiting Rio Del and Scotia we trekked down to the Redwoods. We drove down the Avenue of the Giants and stopped at Founder's Grove. You don't really aprreciate the magnitude of the Redwoods until you step among their groves and the sky is suddenly hidden by towering trees. It's breathtaking. As I first walked through the grove I was reminded of New York City. Except the sky there is hidden by skyscrappers. I digress.
We walked along a trail in Founder's Grove. After Founder's Grove we went a place called Four Fireplaces. Here you can go down to a river and play. Humbolt County has been experiencing a drought so the water level was really low and full of moss. After "observing" the water we ventured back up and allowed the kids to climb on fallen trees. We starting soaking in the surrounding foliage and realized that the kids were frolicking in poison oaks. Never would have known that if Brent didn't look it up on his phone. Technology is amazing. We rushed the kids over to the nearest foscet and scrubbed them with water, arms, legs and all. How horrible would that have been to suffer from an itchy, sctratchy body for the remainder of the trip? Luckily, the only thing we suffered from were a few mosiquito bites. Eventually the rest of the family showed up and we had dinner and enjoyed visiting.
It was a great way to end the day.

Keep an eye out for any rashy spots because poison oak can break out weeks later as we have found out. Just so that you know. I am really liking looking at your pictures. Brent's look may have been looking at you like you were silly but he was also enjoying the sight.
