Just under one week and my children will be going back to school. Oh my goodness, where did summer go? I know, it went to baseball, swimming lessons and the daily grind of trying to keep my house clean. So what does it mean to have my children to back to school in just under a week? Let me count the ways:
I will have an extremely quiet house.
I will have to find ways to entertain a 4 year old when he's not in pre-school.
I will get back into my awesome cleaning schedule, and TAKE BACK my house.
I will have time to fill with fun projects (yeah, right!).
I will have time to fill with reading (this is more likely).
Going out to lunch with my friends again (oh how I missed this).
Putting off blogging till all my "chores" are finished (dang my blogging addiction).
Plenty of time to reflect about how I'm doing as a mother, and try really hard to make up for all my short comings when they get home from school. Having my children go back to school is a wonderful thing. Although I do enjoy having them home, it's so nice when school starts. I know my kids enjoy school as well. The schedules and busy work it provides. I know they enjoy seeing their friends on a daily basis, and hopefully making new ones. I know one day each of my children will find their way permanently away from home. School helps to prepare for that eventual time in the future. Until then, I will enjoy my time during the day, and revel in the time I have with my children when they do come home at the end of their day.

The end of summer is so bittersweet isn't it?
Amen, Sister! I'll miss having Missy around, but I'm also looking forward to some of the things you mentioned. Yeah! And it does make me feel better knowing how important school is for her. I just try not to feel like I've squandered the Summer! I better get off the computer and have some fun... :)
