Stuck in the Mud!!!

As I briefly mentioned in my last post, I have been grumpy for at least the past week. It must be a culmination of things. My grandmother's death, guest who don't offer to help clean up, last few weeks of summer with kids being tired of being around each other, and a grumpy tired husband. I seriously feel like both my feet are stuck in mud and I am having the hardest time pulling them out. I want to be happy again, but how do I do that? Well, by joining the Wimpy Verse club of course. What is the Wimpy Verse club you ask? It's a club that our Bishop introduced to the youth of our ward. You are required to read just one wimpy verse out of the scriptures a day to be a member. I realized as I sat down at the kitchen table with my children that this is one of the reasons for my major grumpiness, scripture study neglect. Why do I always forget that daily scripture study is one major way to stay out of the mud? Haven't we been promised a spirit of peace and love in our home if we do so? No one can get stuck in the mud with love abounding in their home.

So, for the past two days, my children and I have been members. We haven't had any miracles happen, yet. But I know that peace will soon follow our faithful membership in the wimpy verse club. And besides, it's hard to read just ONE verse.

Sorry you are feeling a little stuck at the moment. Been there. Done that. Sometimes chatting with a friend helps. Remember, you have just experienced a loss. It's okay to grieve. Work on making each day a little better but don't get down on yourself for being down. We all have those days and you are allowed to have them. Take time to take care of you. And I've heard reaching outside yourself helps too. I know! Maybe it would make you feel better to make me some yummy food! Ha ha ha. Just kidding. Just thought you might get one good laugh in.

Hey- don't get down in the mud! You are beautiful, talented, a wonderful friend, and a great mother! Think of all the things you are accomplishing and have accomplished, not of what you can't do! Love you!

Awh I hope I wasn't a guest who didn't offer to clean up :( It's amazing how easily we forget what we know is right.
